Our Gold Standard Quality Award
We are proud to have received an Accreditation and Gold Standards Framework Quality Award in recognition of our high standards of care.
The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) in Care Homes Quality Hallmark Awards is supported by Age UK and also endorsed as excellent by the Skills Academy for Social Care.
To qualify for accreditation, Northwood had to undertake the full GSF Training programme over a 12 month period then has had to embed the GSF into their care for at least a further six months before finally undertaking a rigorous accreditation process, a two year process overall.
Mrs Eileen O’Neill, Registered Nurse and Proprietor of Northwood Nursing & Residential Caresaid: “We have always prided ourselves on the excellent care we provide but it is so satisfying to see our team of excellent staff recognised for how caring and skilled they all are. My husband Brian and I are very proud to receive this prestigious award especially as this December will be our 30th anniversary of owning Northwood.”
December 2012 will be the 30th anniversary as owners of Northwood for Eileen & Brian O’Neill
Research shows that GSF accredited care homes reduce unplanned and unnecessary hospital admissions and provide greater satisfaction for families, residents and staff.
Professor Keri Thomas, GSF National Clinical Lead said: “GSF has become recognised as the kite mark model of best practice, helping individuals and their families to identify care homes delivering a ‘gold standard’ of care”
